Taking Notes in AP Books

So I am taking AP Computer Science and we have to outline each chapter. I am trying to take notes, but I feel every little word in the textbook is important and I am currently up to 3 pages typed single spaced with .5 margins and I still have about 8 more sections to read and take notes on. What should I be looking for? I barely understand Java and what's worse is there are random sections of code in the book, and I don't know if I should put those in my notes or not. Even if I do, it's annoying to layout the code as it is displayed in the book. What should I be looking for when doing these notes? My method is taking forever and I am probably not going it right.

Where could I find someone to code java

I would like a java based program for my cell phone, the Motorola EM326g, which would simply emulate some very basic programming languages, such as the basic programming used by the TI86+ graphing calculator. I'm afraid that the only programming knowledge that i know is basic(not VB), and if I could code java, I wouldn't be asking for an emulator.

My resume has been posted on Monster.com for quite some time and I recently received an email and a phone call from a potential employer regarding a job opening at his company. In the email he states:

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 1 year experience with Java/J2EE, SQL and relational databases
Core technology skills should include: Unix/Linux, MySQL, Oracle, Perl, XML, JSON, JBoss, Web Services (SOAP/REST), Swing, and OOA&D

I am only familiar with a few of those, the others untouched and not even being mentioned on my resume. So, I cannot seem to figure out why he would contact me if there is no indication that I meet the requirements.

Or, is this something worth applying for? I can't imagine the company being so hard up for employees that they would hire someone so inexperienced, given the economy.

I'd appreciate any insight you have.

Java - use a delimiter to edit a line.

I have a path in a computer, say /home/pathname/moreStuffHere
The moreStuffHere may or may not be deeper than that (there could be a lot more / after that). I get that line by using
String Directory = System.getProperty("user.home");
I want to use the String Directory, and replace "/pathname/" with something else, based on a user input (lets say the user inputs something and saves it as a string called Path).

I want to take the string Path and replace part of Directory after the second / and before the third /. How can I do this? Thank you! :)

I'm attempting to access a US Treasury website, I can not give the website out due to security, any rate the message I'm prompted is "Java high cryptography poicy jar files need to be installed". I do not know what files these are, and attempted to download certain plugin files form sun microsystem.

I have a Java problem which make me really confuse:

Implement the following integer method:
Method celsius returns the Celsius equivalent of a Fahrenheit temperature, using calculation
c= 5.0 / 9.0 * (F-32)
So, in my method, my input and output type are both integer, or just input type is integer and output type is double because of the calculation c = 5.0 / 9.0 * ( F- 32)

WTF is wrong with Java

ok, i have two Classes, One of them is shown below.Whenever i try to Print the Integer "number"(shown below) in the other class i get a Value of 0, Even though "number" has a Value of 267 when i print it in its class, the one below ? Why do i always get Zero in the other class !

JS2E Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10(152mb)
and then i have Java(TM) 6 Update 16(94.9mb)

Is it really necessary to keep these on my computer, or can i at least uninstall one of them ?

Java: Finding optimal number of threads

I'm creating a brute force attacking tool that has high parallelism, however I'm not quite sure how to find the optimal number of threads to run.

I know with my machine, going from 1 to 4 threads gives a near linear performance increase. However if I decide to, say, use 8 threads, performance is extraordinarily worse. Is there a quick way to find the optimal (or near optimal) number, no matter where the program is run

You may use a random number generator to determine the arrival of a client and when to shut down the ATM for maintenance. For simplicity, each client has only one account with a balance, which can also be set up by a random number generator. The client's data need not be saved for future transactions.

i am a teen [not old enough to drive].but i have seen some program scripts and i can understand the language pretty well. so i decided that maybe i should try proggraming. i have also seen in alot of places that it takes about ten years to master programing. i figured that if i got a jump start now i might have better skills when i go to college. so i want to know a good way to start learning the programing language and whats a good program to start programing with. i've heard of java and C++ but dont know if those are beginer friendly. well thanks if you try to answer
